Karlijn's Big News!

In my excitement, I have made mention a few times of some big news for Karlijn, but until now it has had to be kept secret. Well not any longer. A couple of months ago, Karlijn auditioned for a new show on Dutch TV called 'The Winner Is'. She has done a series of auditions and made it through. She is one of 64 contestants split into 8 categories. Karlijn is in the Youth section with 7 others. She is drawn against another contestant from her section and they battle it out in a sing off against each other. The studio audience decides the outcome. Lose and you're straight out of the competition. Win and move forward to the next round. There are cash prizes for each round which increase in value with each advancement. The winners from each category then battle against each other. The eventual winner will have to get through 6 rounds and wins a cool ONE MILLION Euros (approx 1 .375 million U.S dollars)

Karlijn has been rehearsing on the studio stage today and films the first round tomorrow. The initial rounds will be screened in late January, with further rounds as LIVE shows after. Because of this, Karlijn cannot give out anymore news than is here now, until it is screened.

Wow that is awesome news! Maybe Karlijn will be a millionaire in a few months. Either way we will still get to her great singing from her This will be an exciting opportunity for Karlijn.
My command of the Dutch language is really taking off. While looking at The Winner Is website I was able to translate the word Ka-ching! without using the Google Translator

Wow! Good for Karlijn. She should have such a great chance. Her voice is just so mature for her age, she is sure to impress everybody! We will try to watch some of it and will be cheering for her! Congratulations on even making it to begin with!!!
